New Zealand Images - the Bush

I spent eight formative years in  New Zealand, when I emigrated there with my family in the 1950s. I developed a passion for the forms and textures of the bush, mainly in the North Island's fabulous rain forests, when Mr Rose, my geography teacher regularly took us tramping. This series of works were created in subsequent visits when I realised my new enthusiasm, etching, was an ideal medium to express the line and texture of the Bush.  I also explored, in a more abstract way, the way the formation of New Zealand  by seismic and volcanic activity - see collection: New Zealand - a violent landscape
